Emotion Detection is an ability that has set humans apart for many years. We are social animals, and our ability to interpret emotions on such a complex level is something that is truly next-level. Unfortunately, many such as those with Autism, Asperger's syndrome, or many other disorders do not have this ability. Unfortunately, these individuals, especially those who live with Autism, are often misjudged and perceived in a negative light due to factors they can’t control. This is an unfortunate reality of our world, and the injustices these people face are something that is a problem. …

Pneumonia is a disease that has greatly plagued humanity. Pneumonia is a bacterial infection that causes the air sacs of the lungs to become greatly inflamed and you can get a cough with phlegm, fever, chills, and many other unpleasant symptoms. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, patients who have died have usually had COVID-19, fought it off, and then died due to pneumonia taking advantage of a weakened immune system. It’s important to detect pneumonia in its early stages so that doctors can provide an accurate prescription, and this is what my project aims to do. …

Today, when we think of the different biomes facing extinction, it probably goes along the lines of Rainforest, Coral Reefs, Temperate Forests. However, the most endangered ecosystem in the entire world is the tallgrass prairie, native to North America.

Historically, the prairies of North America covered land all the way from Southern Canada to Northern Mexico. These prairies were home to diverse and unique wildlife and encompassed the majority of the historic ranges of many animals today. The most recognizable animal of the prairie would have to go to the Bison. Bison numbered between 50,000,000 and 60,000,000 in the 1800s…

This year, I got the amazing opportunity to compete in the Canadian Geographic Challenge. It was something that I’d been looking forward to doing for a very long time. The Geo Challenge was one of the most prestigious Geography Competitions for Grade 7–10’s throughout Canada. Hosted by Canadian Geographic Education, a branch of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society, I knew that this was the ultimate goal. This was something that I managed to do well in through alot of dedication and practice, but overall the experience was just fantastic.

So, in order to begin preparing for this test, I had…

Over the past month and a half, most of us have been stuck inside. The only news that we’ve received about the novel coronavirus is that life can resume to normal once a vaccine has been generated. This really got me wondering, what do we need to create a vaccine. I always thought that you took old virus particles and injected them in, so that our bodies would build the antibodies required. You would only need about 1 month of testing then BOOM. A vaccine is made. Turns out, I was very wrong

In 2019, 38,000 people died because of car accidents. Out of these 38,000, 50 people died in Tesla Cars. Now, you may begin to think that I’m vouching for Tesla, but that’s not it. Tesla is not only a car company, but uses groundbreaking software as well. Tesla has achieved autopilot, automatic parking, breaking, and other functions that Tesla driving families(mine included) don’t even realize. Tesla, through utilizing Convolutional Nueral Networks, has managed to account for only 50 deaths out of 38000, meaning that they accound for 0.131% of all deaths on the road in 2019. Now, it may seem…

We have a world where we have many different problems. Global Warming, where our Earth is rapidly warming, we are losing biodiversity, and our planet will soon become an abysmal apocalyptic wasteland. Cancer and antibiotic diseases, which are claiming so many lives, and the death toll is only rising. However, we have a solution staring us straight in the face.

By writing a couple of simple algorithms, along with building a basic neural network that can analyze data and learn better. This is exactly how we can solve many problems. We already know that even the soil, bacteria that kill…
